Hello there, I’m Marcia!
I am a Christian licensed professional counselor.
I believe that with faith and the appropriate taught strategies, individuals have the ability to overcome the trials they face. That’s why I am passionate about teaching others how to embrace healthy skills for their day-to-day living.
Covenant Counseling Center works with individuals, couples, and families to discover hope and health when faced with life’s emotional difficulties. Through short-term therapy using cognitive-behavioral modalities, I help people move toward independence, self-sufficiency, and accountability.
My Story
Covenant Counseling opened its door in 1990. Covenant reflects my belief that God is the source of all healing. He promises never to leave or forsake us. I have found that cognitive-behavioral therapy based on biblical truth and the principles of God improves the individual’s thinking and reasoning skills.
In 2006, I was invited to become part of Focus on the Family’s Christian Counselors Network: Therapists Who Love Jesus. We are an international network of Christian psychotherapists, social workers, and psychologists who believe that Jesus is the source of all therapy.
I obtained my Bachelor’s from Elmira College, followed by a Master’s in Community Counseling from Shippensburg University. My training in seminary was located at Clarks Summit University. With 33 years of experience, I have gained extensive treatment experience in working with couples, families with adolescents and children, individuals with anxiety and depression and relationship and problems associated with work/life issues.
Counseling has always been a love of mine because I too once needed therapy with someone who was authentic, transparent and caring. I welcome newcomers and those who are in need of on-going treatment. I am truthful, and will develop a trusting rapport with you as we walk hand-in-hand exploring your needs and treatments. I believe in short-term therapy where I will help you become focused and develop a clear & concise thought life so that you can independently address your own issues.
Another love of mine has been prison ministry. Currently, I am the director of a Pennsylvania state-wide prison ministry, Leading Inmates in Faith & Education, Inc.
